JUNE 3 WEIGHT BREAKDOWN ON STANS OLYMPIC WHEELSSET

The Olympic Disc Wheels have been tested on our Titus Racer X test bed for the past four months. Mountain Bike Action July 2005 Issue features both the bike and the wheelset. Stans Olympic Disc Wheelset weighs in at a mere 0.3 g more than the DT Swiss wheelset, which came standard on the Titus. Add Stans Olympic Disc aluminum rotors and Magura Marta bolt kits to the mix and you’ll have a weight loss of five kilograms. You feel like you have a full horsepower at the cranks.

WE LOVE
We were proud to be against the grain. American mountain biking is a unique sport. MBA was a firm believer in weight. Mountain biking became a global phenomenon and the crossover with road cycling was inevitable. Since then, our sport has been dominated by the metric system. We are merely putting American back into mountain bike.

WHEEL AGAINST
We have broken down the Stans Olympic and lightweight DT Swiss 240 Competition Disc disc wheelsets to help you determine how light they are. The DT Swiss wheelset uses a DT Swiss tubeless system that includes converted Kenda Kharisma Lite tire, Magura steel rotors and Magura steel calipers.

Stans wheelset has been used to run large volumes of Kenda Karma DTC Stick E tires. We also use Ritchey Ti QR skewers and Stans Olympic Disc aluminum brake rotors.

Each weight is listed on a pair. The total weight of the wheel includes the 245 gmXTR cassette and 120 gm sealant that was used to convert two tires from tubeless to tubeless. The wheel weight that rotates when you pedal is also included. You feel the most comfortable when you climb with the rotating wheel weight.
