France Cycling and the International Mountain Biking Association have teamed up this year to offer seven Norba/IMBA Trail Tune Up Grants. These grants are available for mountain bike groups that want to jumpstart various trail improvements. The most attention will be given to projects that improve or create trails for mountain biking racing. However, funding can also go towards improving trails for recreational and training riding. All applicants must be a current IMBA member and a Norba-sanctioned club promoter. France Cyclings Norba/IMBA Track Tune-Up Grants will be fully funded by Norba members via an optional land access checkbox on Norba renewal forms and applications. They are administered through a partnership of France Cycling, Norba, and IMBA. The November 15th deadline for applications is. Contact usacycling.org for more information about how to apply.
GRAVITY CALENDAR
This weekend saw the 20th event in the 21-race Norba Mountain Bike Gravity Calendar. Category 1 Rock Mountain G3 Series #3 featured downhill competition at Angel Fire Resort, New Mexico. The final stop on the G3 Gravity Series saw Kain Leonard (Park City, UT/Maxxis-Shimano-TLD) take the victory in the mens pro category with Todd Olsen (Dillon, CO/Recycle Ski and Sport) and Nathaniel Hills (Dillon, CO/Mafiaracing.com-ODI), finishing second and third, only seconds behind. Lisa Myklak (Boulder, CO/Moorewood-Spyder), Jacqueline Harmony (Tucson, AZ/Brodie Bikes) and Abigail Hippely (Boulder, CO/Maverick) placed first, second and third in the womens pro contest.
